- Veterinary office
- In person at a Broward County Animal Care location
- Broward County Animal Care Rabies Clinic event
- By Mail
- Broward County Pet Supermarket (one-year licenses only)
- Online at Broward County Animal Care (renewals only; one-year licenses only) Veterinary Office
The most convenient time to purchase a Broward County Pet License is when you bring your pet to your veterinarian for his annual physical, which includes a rabies vaccination. If your veterinarian also sells the Broward County Pet License, you will be able to purchase the license while you are there to get your pet examined and vaccinated against rabies.
The veterinarian will give you a copy of a completed and signed Rabies Certificate for your records and your Pet License at the same time. The Rabies Certificate shows when and where your pet was vaccinated and confirms that you are the owner of the pet. This information is vital if your pet is lost because it provides a way to contact you when someone finds your pet.
All of the information regarding the vaccine and the Pet License will be transferred from the veterinary office to Broward County Animal Care as required by Florida law. You do not have to send any information to us.
If your veterinarian does not sell Broward County Pet Licenses, chances are another veterinarian in your area does. Check the YELLOW PAGES or Google for other veterinary clinics in your area. Call the clinic first to ensure the office issues the Broward County Pet License. If so, take a copy of your current Rabies Certificate with you to the veterinary office.
