Single Family Housing Rehabilitation
Broward County > Housing

This program provides financial and technical assistance to eligible homeowners for rehabilitation of substandard dwellings. The assistance will be used to make repairs to their homes to comply with Broward County’s Minimum Housing Code. The house must be located in Broward County. Residents of the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Tamarac, Miramar, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, Lauderhill, Margate, Plantation, Sunrise, and the Town of Davie should contact their cities for assistance.

Homeowners may qualify for financing in the form of a deferred payment loan, a direct payment loan, and in some cases, a grant. All loans are secured by a Mortgage and Promissory Note and must be of sufficient value to carry an additional encumbrance. The home must not have more than 90 percent encumbrances in mortgages. In cases of a grant, a Restrictive Covenant is recorded against the property.

Funds for this program are provided by the Community Development Block Grant.
