The Housing Finance Authority of Broward County is a quasi-governmental agency created by Ordinance of the Broward County Board of Commissioners in June 1979.

The mission of the Housing Finance Authority of Broward County is to alleviate and remedy the housing and investment capital shortages in Broward County and, therefore, prevent the recurrence of slum conditions, stimulate employment and commerce, and be consistent with sound planning within the County.
