The Broward County Board of County Commissioners contracts with seven persons/firms with specialized expertise to represent the County before the Executive Branch of State Government and the Florida Legislature. With the assistance of County staff, the lobbyists actively advocate for the County's state legislative program, which includes appropriation requests. A Legislative Update, highlighting weekly legislative action, is published each Friday during March and April when the Florida Legislature is in regular session.
