The 2012 and final application cycle for the Parks for People grant program will be announced later this year. Typically it has opened in September and closed at the end of October. The specific dates will be posted here as timelines are finalized. 

The Land Stewardship Program, a five-year capital improvement program expedites and supplements the development of Bond acquired Green Space and Open Space sites that propose utilitization of "green" standards.

Green standards are features such as recycled materials for playgrounds and shelters, low flow water fixtures and irrigation methods, and solar applications for lighting, on site trash collectors and/or hot water systems.

The Parks for People Grant Program provides $1 million each year for the five year duration of the program, with a maximum reimbursable grant of $75,000 per funded project. Information about qualified applicants, project match requirement, funding requirement and ways of submitting an application can be found here.

Submitting an Application

Information must be received by Natural Resources Planning and Management Division prior to the deadline. Late applications will not be considered for funding. Include in your application:

• Completed five-page application, see link above at right 
• Any required attachments
• Minimum of three digital photographs of the project site before initiating work related to grant funding

We encourage electronic submissions of grant applicaitons. If you choose to send your application by mail, please submit in a letter sized manila folder, with all attachments labeled and photographs on recordable CD. No plastic binders, please.
