Mission: To sustain and enhance the quality of life in Broward County by promoting effective and efficient regional uses of environmental resources through environmental planning, management, and regulation.
Administration
Administration is made up of two sections, Fiscal and Human Resources and Enforcement Administration, which provide administrative support to all of the Divisions within EPD under the Director. In addition, the coordination of Legislative Affairs occurs within Administration.
Fiscal and Human Resources is responsible for the Department's personnel, budget, accounting, procurement, and other human resource related support services.
Enforcement Administration provides centralized management and coordination of enforcement cases as well as processing of legal actions for all code violations, variances, citation appeals, and administrative reviews. In addition, Enforcement also manages EPD’s 24 hour Environmental Response Line, processes requests for public information, and is the centralized collection point for all administrative fines and penalties.
Legislative Affairs advocates on behalf of the EPD to state, federal, and local interests and coordinates the Department’s legislative lobbying efforts by conducting analyses and recommendations for environmentally related legislative bills.
