Home Construction Program
Are you looking for a new place to call home?
Take advantage of the Affordable Housing Home Construction Program,
designed to help you purchase a new home.
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners initiated the Affordable Housing Home Construction Program to provide homeownership opportunities for qualified buyers. The program utilizes county-owned, residential lots in the unincorporated central Broward County neighborhoods of Roosevelt Gardens and Washington Park. These lots have been transferred to local home builders for the construction of affordable, single family homes. For detailed locations contact a participating builder.
Homes are available for sale to mortgage approved buyers who must meet income qualifying program guidelines. To learn more and to begin the approval process, contact a Qualifying Lender from the list provided. Downpayment assistance is available for the purchase of these homes. Home availability is on a first come, first qualified, first served basis. All homes are subject to restrictive agreements to maintain the home’s affordability.

Features
Each home includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, concrete block construction with two-car garage, tile roof and hurricane shutters. Homes also feature a complete appliance package including refrigerator, range, dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer and dryer. Homes start at $173,000.
Each buyer is responsible for the following:
- Choose from a list of lenders and apply for mortgage approval.
- Attend workshop and provide workshop certificate to the lender.
- Upon obtaining mortgage approval, contact a builder from the list below to discuss home availability.
- Sign real estate sales contract and provide a copy to the lender.
