Park Hours

Please be advised that effective October 1, 2009, Broward County regional parks, nature centers, and natural areas will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays* due to Fiscal Year 2010 budget reductions.  However, the following four County parks will continue to be open daily:

• Central Broward Regional Park 
• Markham Park
• Topeekeegee Yugnee (T. Y.) Park
• Tradewinds Park

Special note:  Brian Piccolo Park is open on Wednesdays after 5 p.m.

*All Broward County regional parks and natural area sites will be open on the following Tuesdays and Wednesdays:  March 30 and 31, 2010; and all Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Monday, June 14 through Wednesday, August 25, 2010.  Quiet Waters’ Rent-A-Tent campground will reopen on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays during these time-frames.  The following nature centers will remain closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays year round and daily hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:  Anne Kolb, Fern Forest, Long Key, and Secret Woods.

The Broward County Parks and Recreation Division thanks you for your patronage and looks forward to continuing to meet your recreational needs.

Open these holidays:  Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Closed these holidays: Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Martin Luther King Day.

Furlough Days

Broward County regional and neighborhood parks, nature centers, and natural areas will be closed on the following dates due to an unpaid employee furlough day as part of budget-related reductions to avoid an increase in the County property tax rate.

Athletic field hours approximate scheduled league play.

Periodic field maintenance may require temporary closings of athletic fields throughout the year; public pre-notification of closing is given. (i.e., soccer/football - December thru January and June thru August; softball - December thru January and April; baseball - December thru January.
