Broward County Planning Services Division(PSD) serves as the County's repository for the U.S. Bureau of the Census' data, and demographic and economic information from a host of other sources. PSD has prepared a number of documents that provide frequently requested information in friendly and usable formats.

The Changing Character of Broward County presents information about the County’s population, households, housing and economic characteristics. Using data primarily from the 2000 Census, it provides an overview of recent demographic trends, current status and expectations for the future.

 

report The Population Projections report summarizes results from the Broward County Population Forecasting Model, showing that long-term growth will occur beyond build-out in 2010. Where the growth will be located is discussed in a report on Municipal Population Projections, 2000-2025. One of the major demographic trends in Broward County is the Increase in Racial Diversity, as the County’s population continues to grow.

report Broward County is part of the Southeast Florida Metropolitan Area which includes Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. Southeast Florida is the 6 th largest metropolitan area in the United States. Many residents in Broward County's Labor Force work in neighboring counties, as shown by their Commuting Patterns.
